Ride4Life WA – Mining and Mateship Ride
25th to 30th August 2020
Ride4Life WA will be heading off on the 25th August on a little adventure to Kalgoorlie, Mount Magnet, Geraldton and all points in between returning to Perth on the 30th August 2020.
A total of approximately 2,020 kms over 6 days, visiting smaller towns spreading the awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.
As part of the Charity Ride, we will be visiting a number of local community groups and possibly schools to promote our cause.
Day 1: Perth to Kalgoorlie - 585km
Departure Point: Short Stop Lunches, 174 Great Eastern Highway, Midland WA 6056.
Meetup: 0700 Breakfast: 0730
Ride Briefing: 0815 Stands up: 0830
Ride straight up Great Eastern Highway bypassing Northam to Meckering (125 kms) for fuel. Continue onto Merredin (126 kms) for Lunch at the Men’s Shed. Re-fuel before departing to Southern Cross. Merredin to Southern Cross (110 kms) to re-fuel. Southern Cross to Coolgardie (187 kms) for fuel if required then onto Kalgoorlie. (37 kms).

Day 2: Riders' Choice
Free day in Kalgoorlie to explore the town and surrounding areas. (we are endeavouring to arrange a visit to a local school or community group)
Day 3: Kalgoorlie to Mt Magnet - 667 kms
Departing from Acclaim Prospector Holiday Park
Meetup: 0630 Breakfast: 0700
Ride Briefing: 0745 Stands up: 0800
A long ride today with stops at Menzies (132 kms NO Fuel available) for a leg stretch, then onto Leonora (104 kms) for re-fuel and Morning Tea sponsored by the Shire of Leonora. Depart Leonora for Leinster (135 kms) and re-fuel then onto Sandstone (152 kms) for fuel and a late lunch before departing to Mount Magnet (154 kms)

Day 4: Mt Magnet to Geraldton - 340kms
Departing from Mt Magnet Caravan Park
Meetup: 0730 Breakfast: 0800
Ride Briefing: 0845 Stands up: 0900
Easy ride today from Mount Magnet to Yalgoo (125 kms) to re- fuel, then onto Mullewa (119 kms) for a spot of lunch and re-fuel before continuing onto Geraldton (99 kms)
Accommodation: Wintersun Hotel or Big 4 Sunset Beach Holiday Park
Dinner: At the Wintersun Hotel for all riders.
Day 5: Ride around Geraldton Region
Today we meet our local Ride4Life Geraldton group and ride with them to some favourite spots in their region. Details to follow soon.
Day 6: Geraldton to Perth - 415 kms
Departing from Wintersun Hotel
Meetup: 0800 Breakfast: 0830
Ride Briefing: 0915 Stands up: 0930
Today we travel through Dongara to Jurien Bay (200 kms) for re-fuel and Lunch at the Sandpiper Tavern. Then, onto Hillarys Marina (215 kms) for a coffee before heading off to our homes.

Fuel Stops
There are adequate fuel stops for nearly all bikes. Some riders (like me) will probably take a spare fuel container “just in case”. Distances between towns are shown in the itinerary above. Make sure you know how far your bike will go before you need to re-fuel as this is your responsibility.
NB: Information just in (28th June) that there is NO FUEL in Menzies anymore.

Evening Meals for the group:
We will make reservations at the Kalgoorlie Overland Motel for our first night for all riders. In Mt Magnet we will be arranging a group meal for all riders. We will make reservations at the Wintersun Hotel on the first night for all riders. NB: Please advise any Special Dietary Requirements

Please Note:
This is an official Ride4Life WA Charity Ride. We would like all riders and pillions to make a donation towards the cause. When registering for the ride you will be able to donate on-line by following the link to Mining and Mateship Ride. We have decided to apply all donations towards the Merredin and Geraldton Mens' Sheds as they are assisting us on the ride. We will also apply funds towards Helping Minds .
